ErraTAK, a collaboration between Icelandic composers collective Errata, and the American performing ensemble TAK, is coming to Iceland all the way from New York to premiere four new works by the composers of Errata.
TAK ensemble specializes in the performance of contemporary repertoire and they have commissioned several dozen works for their instrumentation of flute, clarinet, violin, percussion, soprano voice, and electronics.
Errata is a composer’s collective that collaborates within compositional projects. The group’s objective is to provide a platform for young composers to present themselves and their art as widely as possible, as well as promoting new and innovative ways in composition and distribution.
Five works will be performed on two Icelandic concerts this July. Each composition is inspired by very different concrete entities: the famous chess match between Fischer and Spassky in Reykjavík 1972, unsolicited email, a dark-blue Suzuki Baleno, and the work of Belgian poet Henri Michaux.
