At ÞYKJÓ's Shadow theater workshop families create their own shadow puppets inspired by the creatures living in the sea surrounding Harpa. It's an introduction to the magics of shadow theater and the power of our imagination.

ÞYKJÓ is an interdisciplinary design project for children and their families in the fields of experiential design, product design and installations. ÞYKJÓ (pronounced thickyo) is the Icelandic noun for make-believe. ÞYKJO´'s design projects aim to stimulate the imagination and creativity of children during free play.
The project Children and City Planning (Börnin að borðinu), by ÞYKJÓ was the winner in the category Project at the Icelandic Design Awards 2024 for capturing children's ideas and converting them into an action with the aim to give them voice and mobilize them to influence.
