The Chinese Wu Opera Art Troupe, one of the most popular
Performing Art troupes in China, has performed for more than 4.5 million
international audience across 51 countries since 2009, including Singapore,
United States, France, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, and South Africa. Wu
Opera, an intangible cultural heritage of China, has a very distinctive
performing style featuring fun-laden acting, crisp and sonorous music, strong
dose of emotive expressions, and bright-colored costumes. The Art Troupe visits
Iceland as the last leg of its tour of Europe on the occasion of the Chinese
Spring Festival. The show it stages in Iceland will have a special focus on
acrobatic moves, martial arts, and artistic depiction of Three Triumphs Over
the Skeletal Demon, the most famous story in one of the four literature
classics of China.
All proceeds of this show goes to the city of Grindavik.
