Katrín Halldóra Sigurðardóttir is an Icelandic singer and actress, born in 1989.
She rose to fame while portraying Icelandic mid-century icon, singer Ellý Vilhjálms, with a hit
show at The Reykjavík City Theatre, during 2017-2019.
Katrín Halldóra has her debut solo album out on 29th of October, featuring original jazz
rearrangements on classic Icelandic pop hits by songwriter Jón Múli Árnason (1921-2002). She
will be following up with a release concert on the 13th of November in Norðurljós recital hall at
Harpa, at 19:30.
About the Artist:
Katrín Halldóra Sigurðardóttir graduated with a degree in drama at The Iceland Academy of the
Arts in 2015. She studied singing at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen along with
courses in jazz singing at the FÍH Music School in Reykjavík. She’s one of the founders of the
Improv Iceland group, and has done various projects in film and television.
Along with a thriving career in music, Katrín Halldóra has had a couple of nominations for the
Icelandic Performing Arts Awards, Gríman, as well as an Edda, the most prominent film and
television award in Iceland, for screenwriting for annual sketch show Áramótaskaupið in 2018.
