Event info

The Iceland Symphony’s Christmas concerts are a permanent part of many families’ holiday schedules, with a host of experienced professionals and young musicians and dancers joining forces in an artistic extravaganza.

This year’s programme will be no exception. The programme features beautiful Christmas music from various periods, including a Christmas overture and a dance from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Már Gunnarsson, a recent shooting star on the Icelandic musical scene, performs a Christmas song he wrote especially for this concert. The conductor is Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason, and master of ceremonies is Barbara the Clown.

The concerts are also performed in Icelandic Sign Language.
