Award-winning documentary Chasing the Present will hold its Icelandic premiere in Bíó Paradís on Sunday, March 8th at 8:00 pm. The screening will also celebrate the release of the film’s soundtrack by Icelandic composer Snorri Hallgrímsson. 

Chasing the Present follows James Sebastiano on his personal journey to overcome crippling anxiety and find fulfillment. Shot in the US, India, Iceland, and Peru, the film features interviews with Russell Brand and Marina Abramovic, among others. 

In 2019, it was awarded Best Documentary at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Chelsea Film Festival, and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Awareness Film Festival. 

The film’s protagonist James Sebastiano and its director Mark Waters will both be present at the Bíó Paradís screening, and along with Snorri will hold a Q&A after the film. 

While the film’s soundtrack is composed by Snorri Hallgrímsson, it also features two songs by Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds
