World premiere of six duos for violin and viola by Icelandic female composers.

Duo Freyja consists of violinist Rannveig Marta Sarc and violist Svava Bernharðsdóttir. In this concert they premiere duos by Mist Þorkelsdóttir, Elín Gunnlaugsdóttir, Ingibjörg Ýr Skarphéðinsdóttir, Bára Grímsdóttir, Hildigunnur Rúnarsdóttir and María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir.

Duo Freyja consists of Rannveig Marta Sarc, Slovene-Icelandic violinist and Svava Bernharðsdóttir, Icelandic violist. They are graduates of The Juilliard School and also mother and daughter. Both are active performers of contemporary music as well as chamber music and early music. Ms Bernharðsdóttir is a member of The Iceland Symphony Orchestra and has released two CDs - Svaviola II containing Icelandic music for viola and piano. Ms Sarc has won many prizes and performed as soloist with orchestras.
