Magga Stína performs songs of Megas with a band and choir. Special guests are Didda and violinist Sigrún Eðvaldsdóttir, as well as a band of well-known, Icelandic musicians such as Matthías Hemstock, Jakob Smári Magnússon, Daníel Friðrik Böðvarsson, Tómas Jónsson and Björgvin Gíslason on sitar. They will be joined by brassband Brasssveitin Látún and three choirs: South Iceland Chamber Choir, Vox Populis and Söngfjelagið, all conducted by Hilmar Örn Agnarsson.

Megas’ work occupies a unique place in Icelandic national consciousness and his contribution to Icelandic music and lyrics is invaluable. The concert will be dedicated to Megas’ long and adventurously diverse career, including classical treasures such as Fílahirðirinn frá Súrín, Gamli sorrí Gráni, Tvær stjörnur, as well as Megas’ music to Hallgrímur Pétursson’s Passion hymns.
