BETRAYAL
a contemporary dance performance

“Once I used to live in Nature. Now Nature lives in Me. Abandoned from the Source, I reopen within me a space…I am Earth, I am Water, I am Fire… The voices of the trees are calling my existence…I hear your voice…I can feel you… I am You.”

The performance is about the isolation of modern humans from Nature, themselves and others, and is influenced by the ecological destruction, the wars, and the alienation of humans who repeat the betrayal, remaining in ignorance and separation.

Ultimately, a betrayal is committed that does not contribute to the harmonious coexistence and respect among living beings, but to a state of ignorance and arrogance, viewing the other as non-equal and important, confronting them like matter that must be consumed. Shifting from the personal to the global, because of this betrayal, we see the overwhelming destruction of nature, the wars between ethnic groups, bullying and terrorism prevailing.

The concept, based on philosophical ideas regarding the theories of monism that consider the individual as an inseparable part of the Whole (Nature, Cosmic Soul, God), illuminates the need for reunification with all there is, and attempts to restore the human being as the species of free will and love.
