Liquid States, consists of innovative, large-scale shadow projections cast onto a screen from a variety of props, puppets, costumes and the human body. Shadows move in concert with projected video, animation, spoken narrative, and an original soundtrack. We create multiple, richly layered visual tableaus, and produce effects that conjure both the dreamlike quality of early experimental film and the humor of contemporary animation. The show weaves together imagery and sounds to create a stimulating experience that documents, and celebrates important cultural voices, social identities and environmental perspectives.
