“Pardon My Icelandic” at the Icelandic National Theatre

Icelandic comedian Ari Eldjárn performs his stand-up show “Pardon My Icelandic” at Iceland’s national Theatre for one night only on May 25th.

The show, which consists of Eldjárn’s best english material throughout the years, was premiered at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival in 2017 where it sold out its entire run. The show was subsequently picked up by London’s Soho Theatre and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival and went on to sell out a combined run of more than 50 performances in Scotland, England and Australia.

However it has rarely been performed in English in Iceland and for this occasion it will be filmed at the Icelandic National Theatre, making this a unique opportunity to see Iceland’s premier comedian on home turf, in his second language.

The show, which focusses on the Icelanders’ mentality and worldview, was a critical success with journalists both in the UK and Australia:
