Kanema's Song is a character driven film about 18 years old Erna Kanema, who is growing up in Reykjavik with her Icelandic mother, her Zambian father and her teenage sister Audur Makaya. While growing into an adulthood, on the borderline of two cultures, Kanema sometimes feels like there is a hole in her identity.

She wishes she could have more contact with her Zambian relatives and a stronger connection to her cultural roots. Kanema´s intense involvement in music becomes her driving force on a journey which leads her to a deeper understanding of her ancestors music and of her own identity.

Premiers September 6th with English subtitles!
