THE CONFETTI MAKER
Devised and performed by Frank Wurzinger
Directed by John Wright (Trestle/Told By An Idiot)
‘unadulterated joy…I could have watched three times as much of Frank Wurzinger and still been begging for more.’
The Confetti Maker tells the simple story of a day in the life of a full-time confetti factory worker. Full of optimism, he pursues his profession, making confetti: cutting, perforating, shredding – all day, every day. But he has ambitions, dreams and fears far beyond the mundane factory life.
Romance. Love. Family.
A highly visual piece of performance theatre, The Confetti Maker combines slapstick, puppetry, absurd storytelling, improvisation and lots of small bits of paper. All expertly woven into a humorous, yet poignant show that will make your laugh while tugging at your heart strings.
Directed by award winning physical theatre director John Wright (Trestle, Told by an Idiot) and performed by award-winning ‘professional idiot’ Frank Wurzinger, this is a show to restore your faith in the comic absurdity of everyday life.
Non-text based work with minimal spoken word.
‘a show full of surprises be they funny, absurd or evocative…this very funny, physically skilful performance tells us something about ourselves.’
British Theatre Guide
‘A tour de force of manic physical comedy…The Confetti Maker is a piece you can access: a heartfelt, haunting love letter to your imagination.’
