The Reykjavik Fringe Festival is a multidisciplinary arts festival held in venues across Reykjavik from July 4-8, 2018. This year’s Fringe boasts of an exciting array of, among others, stand-up comedy, improv, theatre, poetry slam, music, dance, and film from across the world. Tickets for individual events are available at each event, but individual ticket prices vary.
Tjarnarbíó is the festival’s central hub, where all-access wristbands for the festival will be available from July 1. The festival wristband provides access to all performances in all venues during the festival.
As a multinational festival, we’re proud to present shows in many different languages: we’ll be hosting performances from Iceland, the Nordics, England, the U.S., Australia and Israel, to name a few. Most performances will be in English.
A pre-launch party will take place on the July 1 at Hlemmur Square, the festival's main sponsor, with free entry.
Then, on July 4, Improv Iceland will officially launch the festival with a spectacular performance in Tjarnarbíó, and the Poetry Brothel Reykjavík (Rauða Skáldahúsið) will drop the curtain in Iðnó with a special performance on July 8. Other performances include Goldengang Comedy stand-up comedy, Smut Slam with Cameryn Moore, a cabaret performance by Dömur & herra (Ladies & a Gentleman), thematic walks around the city, a poetry slam competition, and a Lindy Hop Ball with live music from The Keystone Swingers.
A full program will be available on the festival's website, www.rvkfringe.is from June.
