Hans Blær is a new Icelandic play by Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl which premieres March 1, 2018.

Title character Hans Blær is a self-identifying transperson, internet troll and social media star who gets caught in an epic shit-storm when their experimental asylum for rape victims turns out to be a little less than morally tolerable.
Will the public finally turn their back on their favorite love-hate punk star? Will transgressive dungeon-master Hans Blær duck and cover – shy away ... with a whimper or bang?
And what on earth will the audience say?

Óskabörn Ógæfunnar (Children of Misfortune) consists of diverse performance artists who strive to challenge audiences as well as themselves through performances that might be fun, sad, ugly or beautiful. For the second time the group collaborates with the writer and playwright, Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl. Eiríkur is known internationally for his award-winning novel Illska (Evil), which was brilliantly staged by Óskabörn Ógæfunnar in 2016 and received six nominations for the Icelandic theatre awards, Gríman.
