Jon Kabat-Zinn, Professor of Medicine Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts was the first person to implement the practice of Mindfulness in modern day medicine and psychology. In 1979 he developed Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction, MBSR, the first ever eight week mindfulness course on stress reduction. Research shows that MBSR is indeed beneficial and is now being taught the world over.

We could say that a “mindfulness-revolution” has taken place in the western world and it is gaining recognition in all facets of life, e.g. education, health care, judiciary, in the work place, business and sports. His books have been on the bestseller lists and have been published in over 40 languages.

Jon Kabat-Zinn is a sought after speaker and lecturer. His teachings will appeal to all who are interested in facing life´s challenges, increasing wellbeing and quality of life and promoting a better society.

Jon Kabat- Zinn will visit Iceland for the first time this year. Three events are planned with him at Harpa in Reykjavík. These events are open to those interested in mindfulness or who just wish to meet this great pioneer.
