Thelma is a supernatural romantic thriller from Joachim Trier, one of Norway’s most internationally renowned directors. A woman begins to fall in love, only to discover that she has fantastic powers.

Trier won the Amanda Awards for Best Screenplay and Best Director with his debut film Reprise, and his next film Oslo August 31st was chosen for the Un Certain Regard programme in Cannes. He also won the Amanda Award again for Best Director. His third film Louder Than Bombs was a star-studded English-language drama that ensured that Trier became the first Norwegian director in the Cannes main programme since Anja Breien in 1979.

Premiered October 21st with Icelandic subtitles.
