Josh Fox
USA 2010 / 107 min

Director Josh Fox received a letter in May 2008 from a natural gas company, offering to lease his family's land in Milanville, Pennsylvania for $100,000 to drill for gas. He would later find countless people who got similar letters, when he explored an industry that uses fracking to drill for gas. He spoke with residents who have chronic health problems that are directly traceable to contamination of their air, of their water wells or of the surface water. Fox reaches out to scientists, politicians, and gas industry executives and ultimately finds himself in the halls of Congress.

The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2011.
