It‘s January of 2015 and the world is still mourning the victims of the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attacks – but Lary, a neurologist in his forties, is also mourning his father, who died forty days previously. He‘s about to spend the Saturday at a family gathering to commemorate the deceased. But the occasion does not go according to plan. Lary is forced to confront his fears and his past and to rethink the place he holds within the family – leading him to tell his version of the truth.

The film was premiered in the main competition in Cannes last year and was later selected as the Romanian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. The film was one of the top twelve films in Sight & Sound‘s annual critic’s poll – comprised of critics from various countries.
