The year is 2008 and Barack Obama‘s first Presidential campaign is about to start. Colleen is a young nun-in-waiting who has avoided all contact from her family. Yet when her brother Jacob is released from hospital with bad face wounds she returns home for a short visit – finding her old childhood room exactly how she left it: painted black and covered in Goth posters. But Jacob remains reclusive and doesn‘t allow any visitors, embarrassed about his facial scars. This gives Colleen a new mission in life, to get Jacob out of the room and make him active again.

The New Yorker film critic Richard Brody named the film the best movie of 2016.
