The space race is escalating and in a working class neighbourhood in Copenhagen Elmer dreams of becoming an astronaut. But when his single mother is diagnosed with cancer he and his brother are sent to a children’s home called Gudbjerg, where no dreams are allowed. Headmaster Heck rules everything through mind games, violence and humiliation. Yet the times are changing and corporal punishment is being outlawed in the Danish education system. But will change come soon enough for the boys in Gudbjerg, amid escalating violence?
