Marie and Satomi; one is young and German, the other old and Japanese, one is a clown and the other is a geisha. Both are stuck in the banned zone in Fukushima. Marie the clown was originally brought to Japan to entertain old people who had lost their homes during the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident. The young people have all gone and gotten a job elsewhere, but the old people have nowhere to leave. Except for one of them, Satomi, an old geisha who tricks Marie into taking her to the banned zone, where the ruins of her old home still stand. She wants to rebuilt it, but it turns out both women also have to rebuild themselves after their personal traumas.
