The Dark Music Days 2017 programme presents a cross section of pioneering contemporary music from both sides of the Atlantic. The focus lies on works with mixed techniques where the boundaries of contemporary music performance are explored. The chamber choir Hljo´meyki, Caput and Dr Ni´na Margre´t Gri´msdo´ttir will perform a programme put together by composer Hugi Guðmundsson in memory of artist and composer Emil Thoroddsen. Adapter will perform a piece by David Brynjar Franzson, Robert Dick & Ursel Schlicht Duo will present their own work, Nordic Affect will premiere a couple of new pieces, and Cikada from Norway will premiere a new piece by Francesco Filidei, to name a few. As every year, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Reykjavi´k Chamber Orchestra and Caput will be part of the festival. In addition to the concert programme, a sound art exhibition will take place in different open spaces at Harpa.
