Event info

Comedy Estonia in collaboration with GoldengangComedy presents a very special event Nov 25th and Nov 26th with three International comedians visiting Reykjavík and putting on a great show for you all at Gaukurinn, the home of English stand-up comedy in Iceland. In the first half we present Australian Louis Zezeran and in the second half Irishman Marcus O’Laoire. The event is hosted by Estonian Karl-Alari Varma.

Marcus O’laoire (IRE)
His high-octane, highly positive observational stand up has caused waves both at home and abroad, leaving audiences feeling amazing for hours after the show has finished. From supporting the likes of Jim Jeffries & Michael Winslow on tours to a hosting residency in the legendary "Comedy Cellar" in his home of Dublin, this young act is on the way to the top.
"I was weeping with laughter at one of his anecdotes. 100% storytelling banter in the Billy Connolly tradition, if he can keep this up I’d say he’s One To Watch" - The Skinny

Louis Zezeran (AUS)
He was born and raised in a coastal village in Australia and his childhood closely resembled “Home and Away” (except for the bad acting). After his last high school exam was finished, he packed his things that very night and left his home, which was a veritable paradise on Earth, with no idea of where he would end up. He ended up in Estonia and now lives in Tallinn. Before Estonia, he has lived in only 4 other different countries, which makes him a disappointment by his backpacking countryman's standards and he now uses the presence of "stand up comedy" to disguise his cultural insensitivity. While living in Estonia, Louis secretly prays for another Russian invasion so in the ensuing peasant led revolt and anarchy he can claim to be a native Estonian from 5 generations and get citizenship. Alternatively in the less likely scenario that Russia invades Finland, his plan would work equally well there. You choose Putin. At first glance Louis strikes you as a typical sun-drenched Australian. His enthusiasm makes you think that just a moment ago he had wrestled a crocodile, he is a fun guy with a ravenous appetite for life.

Karl-Alari Varma (EST)
A comedian who knows how to reach people through his humor and make them feel good. Even if sometimes his jokes are directed at himself."Karl-Alari is a boy from a communist ghetto who dreams of somewhere bigger but can’t break the cycle of poverty and crime so he tells stories from this godforsaken periphery instead. Seeing Karl on stage you realize that behind his homeless-Santa chic appearance there is a fun soul and warm heart and listening to his stories is always a savory experience.

NOTE: There are two nights of this show, Nov 25th and Nov 26th. The shows are basically the same, only a bit different, because you know, Stand Up is kind of unique each show.
