Netti Nüganen Performs The Myth: last day in the Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús.
17. og 18. October , Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús . 75 mín.
The Myth: last day is centred around a prefabricated archaeological mine, where a
pseudo-archaeologist digs objects from the ground. It intertwines reality and fiction, and creates

myths, thereby constructing speculative pasts and futures. The second part of the show is a
black-metal-inspired doomsday-concert, where the researcher becomes a chaotic
punk-metalhead. It animates the ruins, explores reasons to project towards the future and stay
on the surface.
Netti Nüganen (1995) is a performance artist based between Vienna and Tallinn. She uses the
performative moment as an occasion to create new ways of storytelling that could rupture the
existing structures and habits. As a doomer, she looks for ways to (re)establish connections with
the past, which would enable an intentional look upon the present and extend the perspective
towards the future.
Sequences 11th edition will take place 13 – 22 October in Reykjavik, Iceland. Titled Can’t See,
the Biennial will bring visitors together at the darkest time of the year, for an exchange of ideas
and to provide a glimpse into the spaces that cannot usually be perceived by the human eye.
Sequences XI will feature a central exhibition, displayed across four local institutions (Nordic
House, The Living Art Museum, National Gallery, Kling & Bang) with a wider programme of
performances, workshops, concerts and more.
