Reykjavík Jazz – The Moon and I (IS)

The French composer Michel Legrand (1932-2019) would have turned 90 last February. To commemorate that event Heiða Árnadóttir singer, Gunnar Gunnarsson pianist, Þorgrímur Jónsson (bass) and Haukur Gröndal (clarinet) are going to perform some of his songs. The songs are with Icelandic lyrics composed by Árni Ísaksson and Bragi Valdimar Skúlason. The program includes the following songs in Icelandic. „What are you doing the rest of your life“ from the movie „Happy ending“, „You must believe in spring“ from the movie „The young girls of Rochefort“ (1967), Windmills of your Mind“ from the movie „The Thomas Crown affair“ (1968), „The Summer knows“ from the movie „Summer of ´42“ (1971) and „ I will wait for you“ from the musical movie „The Umbrellas of Cherbourg“ (1965). .
