Marína Ósk and Stína Ágústsdóttir, both singers with a strong interest in writing lyrics, collaborated on a Christmas concert in 2018. That collaboration turned into an album, Hjörtun okkar jóla (Our Hearts of Christmas) that was recorded and released in 2019.
Stína and Marína chose Nordic Christmas songs and wrote Icelandic lyrics to most of them.
Guitar player Mikael Máni Ásmundsson turned the songs into warm and listener-friendly jazz arrangments and the outcome is an instant Christmas classic that has received rave reviews.
For this concert, Marína Ósk, Stína and Mikael Máni will perform the songs from the album along with some well chosen jazzy Christmas tunes. Andri Ólafsson will accompany them on bass and backing vocals.
