Nykur is a bone fide hard rock band, all manned by battle hardened veteran of the Icelandic music scene. Their sound is energetic with a modern twist. Ironclad rhythm section and fierce guitar riffs woven together with aggressive melodies, containing gritty lyrics in their native tongue - The vibe is epic and frantic.

Nykur was formed in the summer of 2013 and have released two albums containing blistering original tracks, played loud and hard but always with emotion first. Both albums received good reviews and is Nykur one of the great live bands in Reykjavik.

The current line-up includes Davíð Thor Hlinason on vocals and guitar, Gudmundur Jonsson, guitar and vocals, Jon Svanur on bass and vocals and Magnus Stefansson on drums.
