In celebration of the release of a new CD, The Icelandic Guitar Trio will perform an exciting program at Norðurljósasalur in Harpa. All the music has been written and dedicated to the trio, the oldest written in 2012 and the newest in 2018. The program is highly varied and will take the listener on a journey from the sunny coasts of Spain to the cold winds of the north.

Formed in 2011 The Icelandic Guitar Trio has been at the forefront of the classical guitar scene in Iceland. Performing new pieces by Icelandic composers especially written for the trio in combination with more traditional music they have marked a distinct place in the musical life of Iceland and expanded the repertoire for the guitar trio. Recent appearances include a concert at Dark Music Days at Iceland´s most prestigious music hall Harpa, a performance at composer Oliver Kentish anniversary concert at The Nordic House Iceland,and a recital at the Rundetarn in Copenhagen. The members of the trio are Þórarinn Sigurbergsson, Þröstur Þorbjörnsson and Svanur Vilbergsson.
