Tabula Rasa presents, The last kvöldmáltíð, Kolfinna Nikulásdóttir's first work, directed by Anna María Tómasdóttir

The earth has turned into a desert and only one family remains alive. They live at the bottom of Reykjavík's Swimming Hall. The family believes the 17th June, Iceland's national day, is just around the corner and they have decided to throw a magnificent party. Despite the world almost coming to an end they are determined to honor old traditions of the society they once belonged to. Even at the very last moment they avoid facing themselves and what their actions have done to the earth. Nothing is certain except for death and thereby death of humanity as we know it. The only way out is a complete transformation of thinking and lifestyle. Can these last five living humans start to live their lives in a new way and thereby save humanity and the earth from extinction?

The stark truth of the work sheds a light on the world as we know it today, forces us to answer questions about our own behavior.

Tabúla rasa is a theatre group whose main goal is to stage new Icelandic theatre works.
