Jacek loves heavy metal, his girlfriend and his dog. His family, his small hometown, his fellow parishioners all see him as an amusing freak. Jacek works at the construction site of what it is supposed to become the tallest statue of Jesus in the world. When a severe accident disfigures him completely, all eyes turn to him as he undergoes the first facial transplant in the country.

The film won the Silver Bear - Grand Jury Prize in Berlinale 2018. Mug is a fabulous and sarcastic farce to consider conditions in modern-day Poland and explore life in the provinces, revealing a country that is busy setting its faith in stone. By write-director Malgorzata Szumowskathe that also brought us the spectacular of Body (Silver Bear for Best Director, Berlin Competition 2015) and Elles (Berlinale & TIFF).
