Set in early 19th century Romania, a policeman, Costandin, is hired by a nobleman to find a Gypsy slave who has run away from his estate after having an affair with his wife.
The film was screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival where Radu Jude won the Silver Bear for Best Director. It was selected as the Romanian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film 2016.
The first edition of Romanian Film Days, entitled Revolution in Realism, the New Romanian Cinema, takes place at Bi´o´ Paradís from November 9th to November 12th 2017.
